Semesters and credits are the very essence of the NRU university system.
An academic year is divided into two semesters, the fall semester and the spring semester.
Upon reservation, the spring semester can continue with the "spring semester extended to summer".
The credits to be acquired are the goal of each student of the NRU.
Each program has its own credit value, these can be 3, 6, 9, 12, 14, etc. Each credit represents a unit of time, i.e. 1 credit corresponds to 25 hours of activity (study, research, classroom attendance, laboratories, tutorials, etc.). Based on this scheme, a 3-credit program should engage the student for at least 75 hours. Some important programs in terms of credits (eg programs of 6 credits or more) can be divided into several parts, therefore more exams, however never less than 3 credits each.
Enrolment of the freshmen can take place completely online. The request for information may be addressed to the general university headquarters, or directly to the international branch.
First of all it will be necessary to send an online full resume (available in the tools box) containing all the information about the educational background, qualifications and on the results of any relevant fact to quantify the credits portfolio which can be evaluated.
NRU recognize credits earned at acceptable Institutions and by professional experience. This allows students of all ages to achieve the desired degree with a lower number of credits to be achieved.
The university will provide the prospective student of the link to fill in the Application For Admission, and all the arrangements for the payment of the registration fee.
Application for Admission is now available on the TOOLS PAGE of this site.
NRU Online offers credit-based courses during the fall semester and spring semester and one extended summer session. The courses are completely online; students interact with their Professor / Tutor via e-mail and sometime by discussion forums, compatibly with the possible time zone difference.
Enrollment is possible during any moment of the semester for the courses beginning in the following semester. The student can decide, together with the assigned Professor / Tutor, the number of credits to be achieved in the semester based on the provisions of the academic calendar and the university regulation, in order to obtain the best possible result.
The academic calendar is published from year to year on which it is possible to check the deadlines for enrollment in the semesters (usually six months before for organizational reasons); the starting dates of each semester and the dates of the exams.
